Zech Engineering, Inc. was established in 1995. It has been solely owned until recently. Our managers have a stake in the company. We have a great management team. The team consists of one of my sons (who has taken to the business in record time and loves what he does). The other manager is probably one of the best in the business. We look forward to growing the company in the years to come.
We have several engineers and are always adding more to handle all your Controls needs. We also offer mechanical and electrical field installation of your machine and conveyor system; non-union labor. We can handle all aspects of your project. We are located in an industrial complex in Plymouth, MI with space available to setup a complete line.
Through our sister company, VSII Systems, we offer Control Panel Build. They are also a UL Certified Shop.
Our goal is to ensure that you are 100% Satisfied. We look forward to working with you and developing a relationship as we have with most of our customers.
I was born and raised on Detroit’s West Side. I relocated to the Plymouth\Canton area in the early 1990’s. I graduated from the University of Michigan- Dearborn with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. I have been in the Controls\Automation\Conveyor business since 1986.
Professionally, I have been doing Controls designs and writing PLC and HMI Code for over 30 years. I have worked in many fields: conveyors, washers, ovens, gantry robots, small machines, test equipment, Poke-Yoke fixtures, etc.
Personally, I have a beautiful wife, Sarah, four sons (Eric, Scott, Keith, and Neil), and three children from a second marriage (Zach, Meg, and Pete). Get togethers are fun. I look forward to retirement on a lake where we can take boat rides and have golf clubs at the ready all the time.
I grew up in the Plymouth\Canton area moving to Jackson county in 2015. I have always been intrigued by robotics and controls, but have also always had a love for the outdoors. Starting my small farm with a few chickens, duck, and the newest addition of goats.
I started in my current career with programming Fanuc robots in 2013 and went from there to PLC's the next year. Since then I have been doing automated systems from simple pick and place robot cells to sorting systems on a conveyor line.
In my personal life I am very active and spend time off in the woods camping or hunting. I also enjoy taking my dogs on runs or taking a relaxing walk up to Dairy Queen for some pup cups with my future wife. I look forward to a long future in controls learning more everyday.
I am an Automation Alley controls engineer with a background in IT and computer science prior to entering the industrial world.
I am a transplant to the Detroit area, originating from NJ near the Vernon Valley ski resorts. I started programming when I was 12 with a TI-99 copying basic games from magazines my dad brought home.
My interest in games and how they were made kept me in the technical field and programming. Eventually I landed in the automation field with a system integrator, where I worked for over 10 years, 7 of them managing both the Controls and IT departments.
I’ve worked with a variety of systems, from catalytic converter stuffing and sizing, to transfer systems and laser etchers. Weld toolbars, leak testers, CNC Machining handshaking, vision inspection, and general assembly of everything from brake calipers to headliners.
I have personally integrated many models of PLC's and robots, vision systems, data tracking and traceability systems, including the PC side OPC communication application and database. I've configured many fieldbus systems and networks.
So there you have it, I’m a geek through and through who will play with anything technical I can get my hands on.
